Hanging Out In Bangkok With The Petite Mazda’s Fans

The effortlessly cool Yu, distinctive in his DayGlo t-shirt and sunglasses, tackles the traffic in his red Mazda2. He and other members of the Thai Mazda2 club meet regularly and head to markets, go for food and simply enjoy driving.

There are three production facilities in Southeast Asia that produce Mazdas- Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam.  In Thailand, AAT, a joint venture with Ford, two hours’ drive out of Bangkok, builds Mazda2s, Mazda3s and BT-50s, for both Thailand and export markets. A new transmission plant is being built close by is set to start running in 2015 to meet the increasing demand for models featuring SKYACTIV Technology.
